If you’d like to reset the chat widget and start a new conversation from
scratch, you can use this step. The conversation will restart from the first
message. This is useful following a “Is there anything else I can do to help
you?” or similar question step.
When a Reset Chat step is used, the chat will always reset, however two
checkboxes define behavior after it has been reset:
- Leave Chat Open: This checkbox indicates whether the window would remain open
after resetting, essentially putting the end-user back into a beginning
state, as if they had just opened chat for the first time.
- Leave Ticket Open: By default, Reset Chat creates a ticket in the helpdesk
with a status of “solved.” Leave Ticket Open indicates that we want to both
un-assign ourselves, and leave it in an open state instead.
